Brad's Ultimate New York Yankees Website - www.HistoryOfTheYankees.com
I am sure I will not get many visitors to this page, and that is okay. But I do get asked from time to time about myself and why I created this website. Bottom line is that I love the Yankees and relic in their storied history. There are so many websites that have Yankees stats and the such, but so few that focus on the history of this great team. I have been a Yankees fan since I was a little boy in the 1970's and I can clearly remember tuning into WPIX on our 9" black and white TV in the kitchen. The antenna was a wire-hangar and the picture was less than desirable. But I was able to watch the Yankees and begin my love of this team from the Bronx. The rest is history and my story continues today....
My family is very supportive of my "hobby" and I thank them for that. I have two sons named "Gehrig" and "Jeter" and yes, a very understanding wife! My favorite Yankees year was 1996. For me, there will never be a greater season than that 1996 season.
Along with running this website, I love collecting Yankees items and love meeting Yankees players, past and present. I have been very fortunate to meet and greet many of them over the years and I will cherish each and every encounter. Below are a few pictures from Yankees I have had the opportunity to meet and take a photograph with. Many of the players I got to meet and spend some time with. There is nothing better than a conversation and a handshake. Many of my cherished meetings are shown below....Joe Torre, Ted Nolan, Jimmy Leyritz, Johnny Damon, Carl Banks, Brandon Steiner, Bobby Nystrom, Peter Laviolette, Eric Cairnes, Ramon Hamrlik, Larry King, Linda "Ruth" Tosetti, Bill "Moose" Skowron, Bobby Richardson, Paul Blair, Jim Beattie, Mike Eastwick, Mike Torrez, Sparky Lyle, Ron Guidry, Don Gullet, Cliff Johnson, Willie Randolph, Graig Nettles, Lou Pinella, Bucky Dent, Chris Chambliss, Fritz Peterson, Russ Salzberg, Brian Leetch, and Don Mattingly.
